City of Davenport Residents are represented by aldermen serving on the City Council. It is made up of ten individuals elected from eight wards within the City and two elected city-wide. The City Council makes up the policy leadership that directs the city government to meet the wants and needs of its residents. The City Council has the responsibility for setting all municipal policies not designated by city charter or state legislation such as adopting ordinances and resolutions and approving the city budget. City of Davenport Council Meeting Schedule: The Council meets, unless otherwise set, on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, except for holidays, at 5:30 p.m. Committee meetings and Committee-of-the-Whole meetings will beheld at 5:30 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
