Quad City Foreign Trade Zone #133

Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs) are designated sites within the United States where foreign and domestic merchandise is considered to be outside the U.S. Customs territory, allowing companies to defer, alter or in some cases eliminate duties.Foreign Trade Zones can be beneficial to companies that import a large volume of goods. Use of a Foreign Trade Zone can save companies money, increase efficiency and provide flexibility in the way they operate their business.

The program is designed to lower the cost of doing business and stimulate economic growth and development in the U.S. The use of FTZs helps companies maintain the cost of U.S. based operations and keep pricing competitive compared with foreign counterparts.

FTZ Benefits

Operating through a Foreign Trade Zone can have numerous benefits for a business, including duty deferral or elimination, increased efficiency and more.

Preliminary Feasibility Analysis

The Preliminary Feasibility Analysis is a tool we use to determine whether or not use of a FTZ will benefit an individual company. There is a cost associated with setting up and maintaining a FTZ, and the information gathered here will provide a cost benefits analysis. Please provide us with as much information as possible, and provide the information for each facility being considered for FTZ designation.

A member of our staff will be in contact with you to follow up on your inquiry. If you have any questions about the information requested, please contact Mat Pruitt at mpruitt@quadcitieschamber.com or 563.327.0164.
