This year marks the 15th anniversary of 9/11. Modern Woodmen of America’s Be an Everyday Hero project remembers and honors those lost, while recognizing the brave first responders, military members and others who continue to serve our community every day.

Salute to Heroes march and community event

Sunday, Sept. 11, 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

(march 2 p.m. – 3 p.m., community event 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.)

The march will begin in downtown Rock Island, cross the Centennial Bridge and end at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport. The community event will immediately follow at Modern Woodmen Park.

Local first responder, military and musical groups will join Modern Woodmen employees in a march from Rock Island to Davenport. The public is encouraged to gather along the route to help honor our local heroes. Immediately following the march is a free community event at Modern Woodmen Park, featuring safety awareness demonstrations, hero recognitions, family-friendly activities and more.
